Richard Baxter’s Advice to Pastors
“Abstract: Jonathan Threlfall commends Richard Baxter’s The Reformed Pastor by highlighting fifteen exhortations to pastors from one of the sections of this classic book. Baxter urged pastors to consider the eternal weight of their task and to rely on God fully to carry it out faithfully. Rather than aiming for personal ambition, pastors should aim for the glory of God and the spiritual good of their people.”
The Reformed Pastor was written by Baxter in the 17th century. Threlfall, who pastors a church in New Hampshire, compiles an excellent summary of challenging principles for ministry from this classic work.

A good review of an important book that I plan to slowly reread in the near future.

This is an example of a beneficial article on a subject that is written from a very different cultural perspective.
