What Books Will I Be Reading in 2024

I will still be using my usual system.

I skim the contents of about 100 blogs and websites each day and usually read 40 articles. Many of them recommend or review books.

I usually find two books each week that I want to read and note them in my Links posts.

I will continue to reread the books listed in What books am I reading now?

What will be new in 2024?

A few weeks ago I noted a post in my Links from Tim Challies:

The Collected Best Christian Books of 2023.

I replicated his process and checked the book lists he listed and found some books that I will add to my readings for 2024.

As I said in an earlier post, I recommend that you look at the reviews for these books on Amazon.com and see if these books would be good for you to read.

David Brooks. How to Know a Person: The Art of Seeing Others Deeply and Being Deeply Seen

Peter Kreeft. Ethics for Beginners: Big Ideas from 32 Great Minds

Jeremy Writebol. Pastor, Jesus Is Enough: Hope for the Weary, the Burned Out, and the Broken

Craig Blomberg. Jesus the Purifier: John’s Gospel and the Fourth Quest for the Historical Jesus

Paul E. Miller. A Praying Church: Becoming a People of Hope in a Discouraging World

Esther Smith. A Still and Quiet Mind: Twelve Strategies for Changing Unwanted Thoughts

Joshua D. Chatraw  and Mark D. Allen. The Augustine Way: Retrieving a Vision for the Church’s Apologetic Witness

  1. As always Bob… great insights and resources to consider–and to be encouraged and challenged by. Hope you have a good end-of-week….and of course, greetings to Collette too.
