It happened about 62 years ago on November 22, 1963.
President John F. Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Tx. He died at 1:00pm Dallas time.
55 minutes earlier in a different time zone C. S. Lewis’ brother Warnie (Warren) brought him afternoon tea. Lewis was recently diagnosed with the end stages of kidney failure. He resigned his professorship at Cambridge University. Since 1930 he lived in a house near Oxford University where he was a tutor for thirty years. A few minutes later Warnie heard a crash and ran quickly to the room. Lewis has collapsed and died a few minutes later.
Later the same day Aldous Huxley, the atheist philosopher and writer was dying of cancer. He was in terrible pain and could not longer speak. He wrote a note to his wife asking for an injection of LSD. He asked for a second injection an hour later. He died at 5:20pm, California time.
This providential timing inspired Peter Kreeft to write Between Heaven and Hell: A Dialog Somewhere Beyond Death with John F. Kennedy, C. S. Lewis, & Aldous Huxley.
The imagined conversation is about Jesus, salvation, moral judgement and the possibility of knowing ultimate reality.
Kennedy argues from an agnostic Catholic position, Huxley from his militant materialistic atheistic position and Lewis defends his “mere Christianity.”
Peter Kreeft is 88 years old. He converted to Roman Catholicism and is a Professor at Boston College. He formerly taught at The Kings College in New York. He has written, co-authored or edited over 100 books.

On his website he writes:
“Dr. Kreeft has elected not to receive email feedback, but you are welcome to send him snail mail at Boston College.”
